About Us

Cate Brubaker is an intercultural education designer and founder of SmallPlanetStudio.com. With over 15 years experience in international education as a teacher, intercultural trainer, and program developer, Cate has consulted and delivered workshops for a variety of organizations such as EF Educational Tours, VIF International Education, the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, Michigan State University, World View, New Mind, and others. Cate is President of SIETAR-NC and was recently elected to the SIETAR-USA Board.

Cate became interested in short-term study abroad as a PhD candidate at Michigan State University, where she worked part-time in the study abroad office, taught for a study abroad program in Germany, and wrote her dissertation on short-term study abroad. Originally from Oregon, Cate lived in Germany for nearly four years, and has worked and traveled throughout the US, Europe, the Caribbean, and Latin America. She currently lives in Carrboro, NC.

 

Missy Gluckmann is the founder of Melibee Global Education Consulting. Her blog, www.melibeeglobal.com, is where she shares stories, tools and coordinates seminars for international educators. Missy also developed an international speaker series for those who want to inspire their students and communities. She is also a passionate cross-cultural trainer.
