International Perspectives on U.S. Education :: 3 Short Podcasts

Here at CulturallyTeaching we focus on K-12 education around the world. But I just found goSwoop, a social network for students worldwide who want to attend a U.S. college or university. GoSwoop offers a neat series of very brief podcasts, called the goSwoop Scoop.

Here are 3 podcasts – two feature international students currently studying at U.S. universities and one features a student finishing high school in Pakistan:

:: The Unique Way of Teaching in the U.S. (2 minutes)
Van Le, a junior at the University of the Pacific shares her thoughts on what to expect in U.S. university classes.

:: Cultural Differences Faced When Moving to the U.S. (2 minutes)
Miguel Berger-Calderon, an undergraduate student at Bentley University from Switzerland talks about the cultural differences he faced when moving to the U.S.

:: Preparing for the U.S. College and Application Process (1 minute)
Amina Saigol, a senior at the Lahore American School who will be attending Brown University in the fall, shares how she prepared for the U.S. college and university application process.
